Re: [T3] Guess what I just bought from the local dealership?

<x-flowed>The back-up is the paper back parts books. Lots of them floating around. I think there is a CD around too that someone has put together. People like Russ Wolff also like to put them on their sites. Is that the next winter project Russ? I know you have some but not all. Then there was Big Al from Texas and his online parts book info. Havnt heard from him in awile and the last I saw all the info wasnt downloaded to it yet eithor. Hope he finishes it and his Rebus Project as they are both off to great starts.

Oh and nice score, its the authentic VW reader thats realy cool!

Nice! Did you get a good collection of those little flat things that go with
it?

I was talking with a librarian once, and she was saying that when Microfiche came out, libraries stopped saving back copies of newspapers, because now there was this awesome new storage mechanism, that would "last forever"

however now Microfiche is deteriorating, and some libraries are actually buying old collections of newspapers back from private collectors.

Anyone ever worry about transferring this old Microfiche type 3 info, to some other medium, to preserve it?
or is everyone's [ all three of you? ] Microfiche holding up?
