Sure, there are many good cheap effective ways to do production brazing, but the problem was how to do this without damaging a hollow rubber ball placed inside. ;-) I was just speculating on how this "damper" might have been useful at one time, and a hollow rubber ball would have provided some "give" in the system which would let it act like the lake in the earlier example. I have no evidence that there ever was such a ball there; that was just pure speculation. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
