<x-flowed>Several techniques, but the most interesting would be to pre-assemble the unit, with a piece of alloy wire in the proper joint location dipped into molten salt.
Salt bath brazing. Pretty cool to look at a red bath of molten salt. It provides even heating, a reducing atmosphere (no oxygen) to heat and melt the alloy.
They could use something internal to hold the pieces together for assembly that would melt during the brazing process like wax.
