[T3] fuel damper??

Hey Guys,

I am going through setting up my T3's fuel pump system as it came 
originally......I have the damper, too....is this still a good thing to 
include in the installation, and is it flow directional?...does it 
matter?.....I can't tell which side is inny or outty?

Also....outta curiosity........is there any reason to not use a in-line 
electric fuel pump (that meets our T3's required pressure) and just run the 
return feed directly back to the tank?....Has this been done before?
