Re: [T3] gas cap


If you have a '68 or later, the cap won't be vented,
as the tank vents should go into a charcoal canister
to capture vapors, rather than just dump them into the
air.  The system is usually slightly pressurized, and
you're releasing that pressure when you open the cap. 
Most newer cars do this, too.  This is actually a good
sign, as it means your cap is sealing as it should.
