Are you sure?  In late cars are we talking about the air box right under the
dash, or the bulbous protrusion that is visible inside of the front boot?

The bulbous protrusion in the boot I refer to is visible in this shot at the
back (back is back) of the boot:

My 71 has a plastic fresh air box with a motor to blow the air (bloody motor
ain't working at the moment, have not had time to check it out).
