.YES! 68-9 were the only cars that got the plastic boxes and were immune to rust... the 67 and back were metal and very prone to rust but removable and repairable. I dont know what the 70 had but I suspect plastic like the 8 and 9, the 71-3 was metal and spotwelded in... sometimes they rusted out, sometimes they didnt... VERY difficult to fix.
