Re: [T3] New Fastback photos (long answers to Russ'sessez short questions).

<x-flowed>Here's a copy of the email I sent Phillip B.:
"Portland tunnel, east bound on hwy 26, a van wasn't paying attention and slammed into a Chevy SUV which slammed into an Acura SUV which then hit me...I rolled into the trailer hitch of a van but since I was the only person attempting to keep space between bumpers the van had minimal damage. The cost to repair the Jetta was too much so it's totaled and I've bought it back. The extra money left over went to the bank loan to pay for the NEW TRANSMISSION FOR THE JETTA >8-( Close-ratio, European spec with Peloquin LSD...damn I still get pissed when I think about it. Car was even paid off!! Any way, she's going in the shop Monday to fix the body damage and I'm gonna make her into a track/street car (a car that can get to the track w/o a trailer ;-) because I really, really want to do SCCA."

As to Bella doing engine work, well, only if she wants to ;-) The reason behind teaching her some very, very basic and simple things is to give her knowledge, so she won't be the 'typical' girl that doesn't know anything about cars. I've had too many female friends get ripped by *&#@!-hole mechanics (all of them male, of course). She will ask questions, she will have a rudimentary understanding of how things work -- she won't be helpless and vulnerable (unless, of course, she's doing it to capture the attention of some boy) (who, when the first time he meets me, will be while I'm cleaning my .40 Glock in the living room) (and if he breaks her heart he better head north because Uncle Fye lives south and all it takes is one phone call...)

Triple A is good for it's towing, no doubt! I've used them multiple times.

My father made sure my sister was able to change a tire before she got her first car. You know I'll make sure Bella knows how to change a tire, check the oil (after the engine has been SITTING for longer than 10 minutes!), and replace ALL fluids...tranny, engine, windshield washer, blinker fluid, etc ;-)

You going to teach her how to change an engine too. BTW, what is the "RIP" on your Jetta??
