I'd concentrate on the external stuff first. Seems most likely that it's some wierdness with the coupler or the bushing that keeps the shift finger (hockey stick) from stopping in the middle. Check the set screws at the coupler also. They are supposed to be safety-wired in place. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
