On those trunk-mounted units for bugs and Type 3s you had to drill a  
hole in the gas tank for a separate feeder line used by the heater.  
The 411/412 heater sits in the main fuel circuit, off a simple tee  
fitting. They all have their own little fuel pumps to get the fuel in.
