Okay, I mapquested you and now I understand. Nice area. A friend's folks live
just a bit farther north and (I think) on the other side of I-17. Not exactly
sure of the town.

I've passed by Flagstaff in both the summer and the winter. It looked pretty
nice to me. ;-)

Phoneix in the summer is one place I'd never want to be.

How cold does it actually get in Prescott? Pipe bursting can happen anywhere
below 32F, which really isn't all that cold as far as your car is concerned. Do
you ever see sub-zero temps? My guess is that 15F might be as low as you ever
see, but I'll believe whatever you tell me.

Your car will do fine with SAE30 at 25-30F. It might be okay at 15F. I know it
won't like SAE40 at -10F, BTDT. That was my first winter experience with my '68
square. I got caught with SAE30 when the weather suddenly (and I mean SUDDENLY)
took a turn straight down. Drove to Chicago and parked just fine one day, but
woke up the next morning to find that the engine wouldn't crank at all. We
managed to push the car into my girlfriend's garage (built under the house)
where it warmed up enough that it started easily. I drove it to Madison and got
the oil changed right away. Lesson learned. ;-p
