Re: [T3] brake bleeding question

<x-flowed>>> ISTR that the 65 and earlier cars used 2 wheel cylinders in the front
drum
brake system (2 on each side). You know like the early bus uses, but with
different wheel cylinders. Where are the early guys when you need them? :O If this
is how they are set up, then he might have either a bad wheel cylinder, or the
feed line (connector line) inside the drum partly plugged with crap, not
allowing fluid to pass out easily.

My '64 has the dual wheel cylinders on the front. The '65 should have
them too. There are 2 different styles of dual cylinders on the T-3. And
there is a a bulletin on replacing the front master cylinder.
I have posted pictures of both styles on my web site, along with the
bulletin.

Note the difference in the arrangement of the line from the one cylinder
to the other on the different styles. The later style could cause some
problems on bleeding due to the upward route of the line.

That is good comparison.

'64 and '65 front wheel cylinders are identical across all models.
'62-'63 are of a different design, as seen in the pictures above.
And of course the super early cars use an even earlier design but visually similar to '62-'63.

'65 Squarebacks normally use a 20 mm master cylinder.
They also have larger rear wheel cylinders. They are the same as Super Beetle fronts.
