It's not clear to me exactly what they're trying to say here. I believe it's clear that they're selling a modern belt that will mount in these older cars. They say, "inertia unit, or upper bracket," so it's possible that it's only an upper bracket that mounts up there; that's the way VW did it in the front. If they're putting the reel up there, then I'd think this would be pretty bulky and possibly even hazardous in an accident. > Otherwise I'd either have to get long stalks from the floor mounting points, to > clear the seat base, or use static types. I have a few good used, genuine 3-point fronts and 2-point rears, of the 72-3 self-adjusting style, available here. Except for the occasions when different people need to ride in the car, I actually prefer the static style. They don't hold a constant tension on you, so in a long drive they don't chafe. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
