I made a slide hammer that has a kind of hook that will catch back there. Since you have the replacement bushing, you have the dimensions that you need. It's not all that tight. The other end of my slide hammer has the right size to install the new bushing. If I had it to do all over again, I would make the slide hammer much smaller. The one I made is way overkill, but when I made it, I didn't know it would turn out this way. The design is fine, it's just way more massive than it has to be. VW has a special tool for this, which passes thru the old bushing and expands, then you tighten a nut, drawing the bushing out. The VW tool is smaller than mine, but mine is out and in in just a few seconds. The VW tool would take a minute or so. Russ is the only one I know who actually has the VW tool. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
