Up thru '70 they used a DIN 933 bolt M8 x12, with an M8 wave washer. Starting in '71, they used a special bolt, which I'll bet has a locking hex washer head and is used without a separate washer. It is # 003 323 699, It might be worthwhile seeing if this is still a good part # at your dealer. While looking this up, I also noticed that the drive plate is # 311 105 323C, which means that there were at least 4 different versions of the drive plate, all superceeded into this one. I wonder what they changed; I've never noticed any differences, but I really never had more than one to inspect at a time. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
