Yes, a Helicoil is a good repair for this. If you can, find an M6 x 1 locking helicoil. This will form a self locking thread which will be much less likely to vibrate loose, and yet it can be easily removed and reinstalled at will. As long as you're at it, do both bosses, and be sure to recess the inserts a turn below the surface, just to make sure they are in good material. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
