Your
'72 has the latest version, so you'll only get that version from a very late
71
or later. This version has steering knuckles which take only the larger
front
calipers.
Middle version runs from mid '68 to very late '71. It takes the smaller
early
calipers, but the steering knuckles take the larger inner wheel bearings, so
they are a bit stiffer and stronger than the early ones.
Early version runs from 66 thru mid '68 and takes the smaller early calipers
and the smaller inner wheel bearings.
If you move to a different version you will find that your old calipers or
rotors or both will no longer fit. You could fix this by keeping your old
steering knuckles, but this makes the job a lot harder, and you then have
quite
a few more things to take apart. >>
Basically what Jim said, but you'll find that you'll need a pickel fork or
tie rod end seperator if you need to re-use your existing spindles, rotors and
calipers. It's been a while since I swapped a complete beam assembly, but I
seem to remember the tie rods getting in the way of being able to just drop it.
You might also need a 30mm socket,in case you're re-using your ball joints. I
hope this helps.
