That's correct the front (front is front) stud is replaced by the crankcase temp sensor. > The cylinder head temp. sensor appears to have been near the #4 cylinder > exhaust flange as this is the only tap I can find. No sensor there though. Okay, this is the original 68-9 location, so you need that version of the temp sensor. The only difference between these 2 sensors is the length of the wire. Replacement sensors come with the long wire, so they will work in either position. The thread is an M10 x 1 thread, make sure it is okay before you get too far into this. That thread is also used in some small spark plugs, so taps are available. It's important to install the sensor before you install the muffler, otherwise it's really tight in there and installation is hard on the wire. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
