-The Haynes covers dual carbs, but not Webers, only Solex. A copy might still provide some insight. I'll have to try and order one of those, then. -Lack of advance would give poor power, but would not give you the non-operation of one side at idle. Jim, I checked the dizzy, and it springs right back after I twist it. -What's this about a goofy gauge that splits the fuel lines? It's a round thing with numbers on it, 1-5. Bob thinks it's a fuel regulator of some sort, and he's probably right about that so I set it at 3 after trying all of the combos, even though it doesn't appear to change anything but that's only sitting at idle. Before it got dark (only had a half hour of time out there) I tried just pumping the left carb to see if it was getting fuel. It is. I wasn't able to get a socket to fit over the plugs to pull them for a color check. Either my sockets are too thick-walled or I've got to pull the covers for access? That sure sounds dumb to have to ask that but I couldn't get in to those plugs last night, but in my defense it was already dark by then. Providing those plugs check out it seems to be leading to the combustion side of things from what you guys are saying.
