I've done it, but I wasn't totally happy with the end result. I suspect that part of my problem came from using a cheap replacement headliner which wasn't cut exactly right. I don't know if the expensive ones are any better. At any rate, to do this job you have to have to remove all the non-moving glass from the body, and I recommend removing the rear door, too. I used dozens of spring-type clothespins to hold things in place temporarily while I adjusted everything to get it into the best possible position. The new cloth needs to be pulled completely around the pinch weld where the glass fits and then glued on the outside of the car. The glass only goes in afterwards. You'll see how this was done at the factory when you take your glass out. It was one of the most painstaking jobs I've ever had to do, and I spent several days at it, not counting taking glass out and putting it back in. I'm sure I could get faster at it with practice, but I don't really want to consider that possibility. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
