Re: [T3] headliners for a squareback

Afternoon all,

Has anyone here installed a headliner into a squareback? It's the one last big job (besides paint) that I have to do and I'm trying to decide if it is something I should have done or is it a diy job. I have redone my own door panels and installed my own carpet (not bad for a non pro) but I am intimidated by the head liner. A crummy job on the headliner makes the whole interior look like butt, so I would like to do something nice. I seem to remmember a company that also sold an installation video to go with it. I would appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks

Funny, I was just thinking about this today at lunch. The mice made a nice home inside my headliner when my car sat up in NH for a year. Needed replacing anyway, and I'm also intimidated by it. VW Trends did a nice bit about this a while back, and I think I might still have the article. I'll look it up and see if I can post it on my website. Also, yes, there is a video from jbugs I think. I got it a while back (I think it was $10 or $20) about putting up a headliner, but it was done on a Beetle. It was pretty comprehensive, and the guy who did the actual installation did a fantastic job, and made it look like easy (which we know can't be true, right?)...

Contact me offlist and I'll see if I can get you a DVD of it.

Aaron
