Do I need to force it out with a large gear puller? (one > of those things that look like a spider) No, that won't work, as you will still be trying to remove the center hub. With all the bolts out of one wheel, and the car supported on stands properly, Set the emergency brake, start the engine and put it in first gear. Let the clutch out slowly, and the engine will break it loose. Now put a couple bolts back in that wheel, and do the same on the other side. You now have both drums loose. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) '05 KIA Sorento SUV russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
