Your car didn't have the seal. I don't recall when the seal was added, but it
was somewhat late.

It looks like the seal was introduced in early '69.


Curious, because they show it on the nose cone for the swingaxles in the Type 3 Bentley manual which would have been 68s. By 69 they were all IRS correct?

Either way, I went ahead and topped off the tranny with fluid and got the tranny and subframe back in the car tonight. wahoo! Now I just need to finish the exhaust and get the engine back in the car and I can get her on the road.
