Hey Brad, I'm an old dune buggy guy and you'll get no flames from me. The last one I built had a mid ship 3.5 L aluminum Buick V8 in it. I used to be able to roll down the beach at Pismo at 40 mph, hit the steering brake and turn the buggy completely around, going backwards at 40 mph, then full throttle it, with a roost 100' in the air and in a few seconds be going 40 mph in the other direction. There are many different distributors in the T3. That's because there were carbed engines, FI engines, and FI engines with automatic trans. I have a '69 SB with FI and it has a Pertronix ignition in the distributor, works great. Why not? Who likes points anyway? I'm pretty sure there is a Pertronix available for practically every vw distributor.
