[T3] shifter

As you have seen dad and I have been able to get the body sitting on 
the chassis, although not everything is lining up properly. I was 
wondering about the shifter. When i sit in the drivers seat and have it 
where i want relative to the pedals and the steering wheel, the shifter 
is a real stretch for me. I'm not a short person either and i don't 
find this very comfortable. My question is, when everything with the 
engine and the trans is bolted together, does the shifter move back a 
bit so that it is easier top reach? Thanks for your continuing help.
