Be aware that the most common cause of this is improperly installed FI computers. The FI brain is attached to a plate on the left side of your rear trunk. It should be held in by 2 screws at the top and 2 spring clips on the bottom. Those spring clips should be on the OUTSIDE (out is out) of the body, but they usually end up inside when a mechanic is in a hurry. Installed correctly they are quite water tight, but done wrong they let the trunk fill up with water. This is a COMMON problem, even with cars like Marion McDonald's which he has owned all its life and was not aware of any FI work ever being done. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
