Thanks for the compliments.  Yes it opens....works great.  One touch 
open, even.  for those that didn't hear the story of the sunroof at 
Hershey....here it is.

The sunroof was original purchased for a concept car that I was working 
on at the Ford Research Lab.  We used it to study the mechanisms and to 
test all of the controls and interfaces that were being used in the 
concept car.  It was intended to be a donor for the concept car, but we 
ended up building the unit for the concept car from scratch.  It sat in 
the Lab for a couple of years collecting dust.  When it was to be 
scrapped, I "helped scrap it". <G>

It sat in my garage for a year or so while I got up the nerve to cut 
the hole in Sophy's roof. <G>

It is a Webasto Hollandia Stratos 400.  It is approx. 32" wide by 42" 
long.  All of the contour and stuff are perfect for the Type 3 roof 
lines.
