I hate to say it, but "Build it and they will come" That is actually
rediculous for a street VW.

I have built L-Gas Bugs that ran in the 7's that didn't have that kind
of traction bars in it.

If it is the nut I am thinking of, you can cut a small hole into the
body opposite the nut, to get to it. Then after you have the nut welded
back into place, you weld the hole back shut.
