VERY ODD! I think the cotter pin may indicate that these are something
completely different. I have no idea what they are. Probably not even ATe of
any nationality, but they could be Girling, maybe. It would be interesting to
know what dia piston these had, but that would probably require taking them
apart to find out.

They sound similar to the ones that were on the rear of the Ro80. I had my brakes apart on the Ro80 lately and they were exactly the same as Type 3 front brakes with the exception of those little stainless clips to hold the pins in, made me wonder why VW didn't do it the same way, they were ATe calipers as well.
