Jim - The old starter sw. worked but, I had to hold pressure at a specific 
angle with the key to get it to work & I haven't even gone close to the starter 
during the switch in switches.
    As far as the lights, I found bad bulb connections & maybe all of the 
removing & reinstalling of the box connectors could have scrubbed in a good 
connection there.
    I looked at the '71 diagram & that doesn't show that white wire either??  
I'm just about ready to make my own diagram of what is there.  Thanks
