New injectors are getting scarce, and cost over $60 each. Since it only takes about 10 minutes extra to replace that hose, I figure that's well worth it. You just have to cut off the crimp ferrule without cutting into the steel stem that's under it. It's okay to cut into the rubber hose that's clamped in there. Once the old hose and ferrule is gone it's easy to replace the hose with a new short piece. This is a standard repair. I do it on every FI car eventually. Those little hose pieces don't last any longer than the long pieces, and those are luck to last 5 years. Don't even think about replacing just the pieces that are leaking; replace all the pieces that are the same age or older. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
