I guess the substantial plate assembly that holds the bearing tube on LHD wouldn't fit between the clutch pedal and the tunnel. As it is, the tunnel gives support from both its cheeks on RHD rather than just one side as on LHD. We call them roundabouts. The warning signs in New England seemed to call it a rotary, so I thought that was maybe general US-speak (where they have them). I think the US isn't the only place with drivers who don't think. Our latest traffic scheme at roundabouts is to grow hedges just tall enough for car drivers to be unable to see what they might have to stop for. Gives camper vans and trucks an advantage I suppose, but safe drivers have to stop anyway. Anyone who has tried to navigate the Arc de Triomphe (L' ?toile) in Paris will sympathise with you about a 6-way stop in Boston. Luckily the traffic was at a stop when we tried, so nothing happened very quickly! Dave.
