If you look closely at your type 3 welting, you will see that it has a 
different cross sectional shape. Ours is also solid vinyl, colored all the way 
thru. His is some kind of fabric so the surface texture is also different. This 
stuff might work, and it would certainly be better than nothing, but it will 
never look like the original.
