The use of composite (fiberglass) floorpans has come up before on the  
list.  There are couple of detailed responses and other information on

You might have to scroll down a bit to see the link to the floorpan  
info, depending on your screen resolution.  Check out what is there and  
then ask more questions.

If done CORRECTLY, composite floorpans can be made to work and they can  
be, pound for pound, stronger than the steel.
