I believe I have found the loud noise.  I took the gen off again and started the car and with a flashlight I peered in the hole and reved up the engine until I saw the nut behind the fan. Now do I have to pull the engine to get to this or can I do it in the car.  I couldn't get the pully shroud off before. Do I have to take the muffler off?  Thanks the screwdriver trick worked outstanding.  Amy and Ollie
