Thats like running with no air cleaner... REALLY bad for the engine in any
kind of dust at all.

in turn I don't know how the gas mileage is yet.  I will check the oil
pressure sensor in the morn. there is a sponge type thing in this,

Pressure sensor... not sender, and its the manifold pressure sensor, part of
the FI system and it has no foam element in it.  See the Bentley for a
description.
