Re: [T3] Distributor Disassembly

StevenC=> How do you remove the top part of the
=> distributor shaft ... ?

I've done a bunch of distributors, and I haven't had a need to do this. If
it's stuck, try giving it a soak in solvent for a bit. (You probably
wouldn't be able to get it apart anyway until it's free, and if it's free
you don't need to take it apart.) It's lubed with oil from the top, not
grease.

=> what do people recommend for lubricating the
=> distributor? Grease, silicone spray....?

Silicone will do you no good here. You need a little engine oil in the pad
at the top of the shaft, and some cam grease on the point lobes. The primary
lubrication comes up the shaft from the distributor drive.

=> is a Bosch SVDA FI distributor a good replacement
=> for a 009 on a stock twin carb motor

Yes! Any of the FI distributors is much better than the 009. The differences
are subtle, but my preference is the L version.
