----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Baum" <daniel@type34.info> Is there any way to test that the air cooler is working? Daniel It is my understanding of the mechanics of the oil cooler that as long as the oil flowing thru and not escaping(oil leak), you have a good current of air flowing through it without obstruction (all engine tin bolted, a new foam piece on the thermostat and cooling flaps adjusted properly) it should do it's job as engineered to. Other ways to tell is on a good run and a oil temp gage. I usually just watch my idiot light since I have live in dry hot places for the last ten years and I do not have a oil temp gauge. NOTE that if the idiot light comes on does not necessarily means that the engine is hotter than usual as it is supposed to come on during engine operation when there is a lower than usual oil pressure. Hope this helps and I am sure the others will chime in other ways to check it.
