I don't want to tighten this up too much, because those > bosses are delicate, as I found out to my cost last time I tried this. Do you mean that the OIL cooler is leaking there? If so, did you know that with the dual carb engine, the air cleaner is so close above that boss, that there is supposed to be a special adaptor between the oil pressure switch and the oil cooler boss. This adaptor connects with a sort of "banjo" fitting that uses copper washers on each side. The adaptor allows the pressure switch to fit in from the rear (rear is rear) without interfering with the air cleaner. I have a couple of these special adaptor fittings if anyone needs one. On FI and single carb engines, the pressure switch screws directly into the oil cooler boss. The switch threads are tapered and should seal with no help. A bit of pipe sealant, teflon tape, or gasket compound might help, however. It is fairly common for the switches to leak themselves, so make sure that the problem isn't there. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
