The present leak is only visible once the engine gets going and warms up a
bit. I could see a puddle of oil after a very short drive (a few hundred
meters). I doubt if I'd be able to run it for long enough to test for a leak
like this without putting everything back together.

I'll see if I can find something suitable. If I can't I'll ask you to send

It seems mine was set up properly. The oil cooler was secured with two very
long bolts, inserted from the top. There was a largish washer underneath the
bolt head and a smaller one underneath the nut, but nothing between the oil
cooler and engine case. The seals are thin.

I'm missing the rubber grommet.
