Replace/rebuild the trans. Been there/done that. Made a living at it.
Reverse shift fork and the gear get worn. It is caused by people
shifting into reverse before the car is completely stopped. 1st gear
slider will be worn too.
Luckily, you have a '72 with the newer style reverse, and parts may
still be availible.
And, they are the same as a T-1.
