Thanks for your kind words. Maybe 'feeling guilty' is a bit strong, and I agree with you about every driver needing to assume the worst of the road surface. I'm sure they would have had to be shifting fast to have got through the fencing anyway, and no doubt their young age says a lot - that's why my (relatively) sensible sons have such high insurance premiums even though they haven't proved themselves bad drivers (touch wood). I still hope the oil leak wasn't a factor though. Dave.
