Mechanic red alert -- the injectors are readily available (and I doubt that all four were shot, but you never know). The mechanic *really* couldn't find them?!?


This general sort of story has been repeated again and again about mechanics who simply were not familiar with the D Jetronic fuel injection system.

CIP1.com, a Bosch 009 distributor, Facet low pressure fuel pump, VDO fuel
sender, new fuel filter and 35' of fuel hose.  I've already removed the
vacuum distributor, ECU, a few hoses and the intake up to the manifold.  So,

What year was your car again? I'm running a 1969 fuel injected Type III "L" distributor on my dual-carb Bug (Kadrons), just using it as mechanical advance only. Runs smoother than the cheapo 009 I had on there. (Maybe you can return your 009 and save some dough?)
