$300 is too much in the first place. $150 is the most I would offer anyone,
and that is for a COMPLETE system (minus the gas, of course)!
I disagree w/Jim about the whole compressor thing. Today's modern compressors
put less of a load on the engine. If you don't go cheap (which is different
than inexpensive ;-) you can get a compressor that consumes less than 2hp
easy. Yes, it will still put a load on the engine but one that is in tune
will survive quite fine. Yes, getting under the dash would be more of a pain
if it was ever necessary to get under there. Life is full of compromises, oh
well.
