I've seen pulling off for the faster vehicle many times in places where farm trucks, tractors and horses often share the roads. Also in two-lane mountain driving, when there are few opportunities for safe passing, considerate drivers will move aside at the wide spots. I do this when I want a leisurely drive, because I dislike having another car right behind me, and I appreciate it when I'm out for a more spirited drive or just need to get somewhere. I also think that old-car drivers are generally far more aware of these details, probably because we think of driving as more than just getting there.
