I asked this same question last week! see <http://www.vwtype3.org/listarchive/msg03754.html> for that thread... While there were some that chimed in, no one claimed ot having done it. I have dual carbs, the original fuel pump, and I see a plugged fuel line in the front of the car. As for in the engine bay, I have not yet had a chance to look in too much detail.

Short answer?: "sure".

Longer answer:
- you need to be committed to doing it - both in money, and the demand of the jigsaw puzzle you're trying to put back together, depending on how the conversion was done (how brutal were they ripping stuff out to put in the carbs?)
-and-
- you will probably end up learning WAY more about the FI system than you would ever have wanted to know!

No doubt the members of the list will be of mucho help in both of those departments. Keith Park has an FI FAQ he can send you (thanks, again, Keith!) If you don't have one, get a Bentley repair manual for your T3. There is also a FI manual out there... I think by Elfrink, but I am not sure!

I am thinking of going to the local junkyards tomorrow to see if I can get lucky, maybe find a complete system I can get for a song (unless anyone on the list has a set they'd like to part with?). My squareback is a secondary project, so I can take plenty of time getting things going on it.

p.s. the FI manual *is* by elfrink; I just found it online (through bookfinder.com) for $5.95 + 5S&H...
