<x-charset utf-7> I don't think were a purest group but most of us agree that the original vw parts are better than most aftermarket replacements. I would agree that type3 owners are less prone to customize than bug people. For instance, when I bought my square which has 34 ICT weber carbs I asked the seller if he had the stock fuel injection. He (a bug guy) looked at me like I was crazy and said no. He'd thrown it away. I personally like to change things a little. I guess I'm a wrecking yard customizer. I hide my stereo in a modified Jetta console, Have a rear mat from a Passat station wagon, distributor from a vanagon even a screw from a merkur. I guess that's just what I think is fun. My preference is to change things for function not form. I think the type3 looks best at or near its stock form so I avoid cosmetic modifications. I really don't understand why so many people think cars look better lowered.
