<x-charset utf-7> I don't think were a purest group but most of us agree that the original
vw parts are better than most aftermarket replacements. I would agree that
type3 owners are less prone to customize than bug people. For instance, when
I bought my square which has 34 ICT weber carbs I asked the seller if he had
the stock fuel injection. He (a bug guy) looked at me like I was crazy and
said no. He'd thrown it away.
I personally like to change things a little. I guess I'm a wrecking yard
customizer. I hide my stereo in a modified Jetta console, Have a rear mat
from a Passat station wagon, distributor from a vanagon even a screw from a
merkur. I guess that's just what I think is fun.
My preference is to change things for function not form. I think the
type3 looks best at or near its stock form so I avoid cosmetic
modifications. I really don't understand why so many people think cars look
better lowered.
