i was kind of afraid of that. I seriously do have very little mechanical
know how (not to mention very little positive cash flow), so this whole
process is going to be extremely slow and tedious for me. trial by fire
methinks.

i bought it for 200 bucks in 2000, i had it running for about 2 months. it
turns out that it had been sitting for about 5 years before i got it ( the
guy lied to me about that) It died on me in early 2001, and i havent been
able to afford to get anything done to it since.
while it was running, in that span of 2 months, i had to replace 2 of the
injectors because they were worn out, and i was driving to work with a
stream of gasoline pouring out of the back of my car.
i know i am going to have to see about getting the gas tank fixed, the guage
doesnt work and i have a feeling that there is a lot of crud in the tank.

i have a lot of oil around the bottom of my engine, and a lot of tranny
fluid on the bottom of the transmission (its an automatic by the way)
hopefully this weekend i will havethe time to siphon out any fuel in the
tank, give the battery a charge, put fresh gas in it and try and turn it
over to see how that goes.

as far as symptoms, as i remember, it actually ran fine the day it died, but
i was driving home through an ice storm, and i just suddenly couldnt get it
above 10-15 mph.
even if i floored it, it still sounded as if it was bogged down, and just
crept along. (at that point in time, my mothers house had burnt down 2 days
prior, so my money was going elsewhere, hence the car sitting for the past 3
years.)
it was almost as itf you were driving a manual transmission car, and tried
to pull out from a dead stop in 3rd or 4th.

when the garage replaced the injectors for me, they said that the fuel
pressure was good.
i actually have a new fuel filter in the back trunk that i never had a
chance to put in.

this i never checked...

the gas mileage was great, except for when it was freely pouring out the
back of the car from the leaky injectors.
but i think it was 22-25 mpg
