Well, about 800 miles ago I purchased a remanufactured generator form CIP. I installed it along with a new voltage regulator. Everything worked well until a few weeks ago when I started the car to go to work. The generator light would not go out. I checked the belt and unfortunately there was no problem there. Yesterday I performed generator checks and found that with DF connected to D- and reading across D- and D+ on my volt meter, I am only getting .2 V at any rpm. This is the same thing that happened to my original gerenator. Is something on my car causing this or did my first generator go bad because of age and this one because of a poor quality rebuild. In both cases everthing appeared to be fine and then all at once no charging. TIA.
