That's certainly a possibility, but it would take 2 relays on cars '67 and later, and would actually be a fair amount of work to do correctly. > Is this only an issue after you switch to the silicone brake fluid or > will the newer switches fail earlier on standard brake fluid as well? That's the big question. Keith's switches appear to have been a type which was actually incompatable with the silicone fluid. The ones I've taken apart weren't the same. I've had OE switches which failed only a few years after switching to silicone fluid, but what can you say about a switch that fails after 20 years of normal fluid plus 5 years of silicone fluid. It might well have been a normal old-age failure. I've also had OE switches fail after 10 years of normal fluid and 10 years of silicone. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
